So, I don’t scare people AFTER Halloween…
Some people have amazing willpower all by themselves. They challenge themselves daily and continue to rise and meet those challenges, dazzling us with their personal strength.
Yeah, I’m soooo not that person.
As I sit here, I am a good 8-10 pounds up in weight from my 12 lb loss after almost a year of dedication to being fit and losing. Can we say yo-yo? Hello, Oprah? I’m so not judging you anymore, my sistah…
I have never thought of myself as a yo-yo dieter, but I guess that’s what I am in danger of becoming.
Ideally, I should be going into Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the food that goes in between that, at my very “sveltest” (if that is a word!) I. Am. So. Not. There. Not. Even. Close.
There’s a lot of major things going on in my family right now, and my waistline is bearing the scars of that stress as USUAL. So, I have to get tough with myself. And, then I read about Kimberly’s challenge. It sounded like just the kind of tough love I need right now.
NO CANDY FOR HALLOWEEN!
Click that badge or link to get more details and join her pledge. We can do this if we do it together! Just say no to the candy! Because, it only leaves you feeling worse and how can we go into Thanksgiving (pies, sweet potatoes, cookies, etc) like that really?
Leave me a comment if you’re playing along so we can support one another through the hard days where the basket of Reese’s is calling our name, the kids are at school and well…just one won’t hurt, will it?
It will. I know it will. Because one is never one. And, so, today it begins. PMS should be really, really rough this month, to say the least! Thanks a LOT, Kimberly! (No, really….thanks…)

In some ways, I'm a walking cliche--a suburban mommy blogger of two kids just trying to keep my crazy yet wonderful life in balance. But, I'm also a career writer who has just returned to fulltime work in the software industry, I'm a wife going through a divorce after almost 20 years of marriage, and I'm discovering that life is full of surprises. But, mostly I am learning to look at the world through funny glasses with my tongue sticking out. Pfffftttt!

Okay, so I can’t totally make the No Candy pledge. BUT… I can tell you I’m in the same boat. Stopped nursing a month ago and am now 7 pounds up. I can’t believe I lost the baby weight only to regain the baby weight. Again. Just signed up for WW. Aaaaah…the memories.

Some of it is probably the dreaded 35 yr old metabolism curse. Are you 35 yet? If so, I am soooo sorry!
