Hump day yet?
I’m one minute from hump day as I post this. For some reason though, my editor’s clock is almost an hour off, so does that mean I’ve NOT blown it on day three of my Own Private Blog-a-ho? (I’m not beyond calling myself a ‘ho, for this blog!) This week has been a struggle in one form or another, but I have decided today’s post will be about gratitude. So, here goes:
I’m grateful that my father showed a big sign of recovery and may be getting to go home from the hospital as early as tomorrow!
I’m thankful that my sister understood my worries about an issue with my father and his health and has stepped in and helped out where I can’t because I live so far away.
I’m thankful for my body’s ability to build muscle easily and quickly. Even when the weight loss is slow, I have well toned legs and have started to get complements on a changed body.
I’m thankful to have a friend here visiting who will go shopping with me and tell me when something TRULY does not flatter me.
I’m grateful for neighbor friends who helped out while I was away and ones who noticed I haven’t been out and around and missed my presence!
I’m thankful for a husband who does considerate things, like offering to pick up my daughter giving me an extra hour of catching up time with my dear friend who I don’t get to see enough.
I’m grateful for DVRs because if I had to sit through both this week’s American Idol AND The Biggest Loser with the commercials, I would have divorced both shows.
I’m thankful for Lil’ Rounds on AI. She is the bomb.
I’m thankful that I FEEL so much healthier and am learning how to change my diet permanently to continue that good feeling.
I’m grateful that I divorced The Bachelor 3 seasons ago and never looked back.
I’m glad that my son survived the TAKS test and continue to pray that he did well enough on it to not have to repeat it.
And, I’m glad it is bedtime, because this list has been as boring as my favorite two shows this week and it needs to be put to rest NOW!

In some ways, I'm a walking cliche--a suburban mommy blogger of two kids just trying to keep my crazy yet wonderful life in balance. But, I'm also a career writer who has just returned to fulltime work in the software industry, I'm a wife going through a divorce after almost 20 years of marriage, and I'm discovering that life is full of surprises. But, mostly I am learning to look at the world through funny glasses with my tongue sticking out. Pfffftttt!
